Currently there is no consensus connection. "Major" here is to be interpreted liberally. For instance, any family containing a currently spoken language (that is not itself in the Japonic family) will count.
Relation via "lots of words are borrowed" won't count. If expert opinion evolves to a point where this question is nonsensical, I'll resolve N/A.
