If Kamala Harris loses the 2024 election, she would be in the position of having to preside over the counting of electoral votes and certify her own loss, similar to Al Gore in 2000. If this occurs, will she perform her ceremonial duties as clarified in the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022?
This question resolves to Yes if all votes cast by the submitted certified slates of electors from all 50 states and DC are accurately counted and Kamala Harris officially declares her opponent the winner of the election by the end of the day on January 6, 2025. This question resolves to No if Kamala Harris attempts to take any kind of unilateral action to dispute the results or alter the electoral vote count while presiding.
This question resolves to "Kamala Harris will win the election" if Kamala Harris is declared the winner of the election on January 6, 2025 by officially accumulating at least 270 valid, certified electoral votes.
This question resolves to "Some other outcome" in the event of an electoral college tie, faithless electors ruining a majority, Kamala Harris dying and/or being replaced, any state failing to certify a slate of electors / the total number of electors being less than 538, or any other foreseeable or unforeseeable outcome other than the above.
