The Apple Watch when released had multiple possible areas that it could have dramatically impacted before primary becoming a Health device. I'm very interested to see where everyone else thinks Apple Vision will end up.
Feel free to other options that I have missed.
@AlexGuichet Good question. In my mind there are two parts to the answer. 1) What area becomes the core focus of the product (assuming it creates one). 2) Does this area meaningfully change our lives for better or worse.
For 1) using the Apple Watch + Health as an example it has become clear (at least to me), primarily through Apple's marketing, statements in shareholder meetings, new improvements and features geared towards Health and a specific new product in the Apple Watch Ultra that goes even deeper into that sphere that the Apple Watch is now primarily about Health and Fitness.
2) This is probably harder to answer hypothetically but like other polls here I hope that when the product comes out people can discuss and link information to discuss the potentially meaningful impact. In my mind it should start becoming clear, if not already, around the thirdish iteration whether the product line has started to really change an area of our lives.
I get that this is probably not the discrete criteria you are looking for but at this point creating some arbitrary criteria is just bound to backfire.
A couple examples though:
Apple vision comes out and for whatever reason a large number of creatives adopt it for their businesses transforming how 3D modelling is done from game design to architecture to product fabrication. In response Apple creates more features, ads and services around supporting these users including a new accessory and creative subscription service. In this case, assuming no other big hotspot areas, then work would be the winning resolution. In the case of there being cases for multiple we'll argue that out here as to which is most!
Apple vision is realised and despite having a couple iterations never really establishes itself outside the early adopters category. It does some neat things but when we look around all the important areas of our lives nothing has really changed like the VR products before it. Resolution will change nothing is paid out.
