Diane Abbot has bee the MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington since 1987.
She has expressed her desire to run for re-election as a Labour candidate but she was recently suspended from the Labour Party and there is a lot of speculation about whether she will be allowed back in to stand.
Will she be allowed back into Labour? If she’s not, will she run for Parliament anyway?
This market is about running for any seat, but realistically she’s not going to run for any seat other than Hackney North and Stoke Newington!
Candidate registration is due to close on 4th June so I intent to resolve this market shortly after that date rather than waiting until the election date, so if she registers but drops out later the market will not be re-resolved.
I intend to resolve this to “yes - Labour” unless anyone’s still holding out for another U-turn?
I think this can probably be resolved now, @SimonGrayson

Edit - I’ve just reread my original description
@Tomoffer backroom negotiations? Starmer wants his cake and eat it: she doesn't run, but he wasn't the bad guy for stopping her?
Update: Diane Abbott says that she's been banned from standing for Labour, but a number of Labour figures are suggesting that she should be allowed to run as a Labour candidate:
The Times thought that she won't be allowed to stand, even though she has the whip again:
I think if I were 70 I'd want to take my retirement!
