I was reading the information and saw that ”OpenAI Overhauls Content Moderation Efforts as Elections Loom”
This made me wonder if they will be successful in their efforts.
If something happens where OpenAI technologies are used to influence the elections in some way and this becomes a big story that is being reported by major news outlets for 2+ weeks then this question resolves to Yes.
@PaulBenjaminPhotographer Good question.
I would personally be surprised if multiple reputable news sources attack OpenAI for 2+ weeks based on nothing.
If it is not clear that OpenAI technology was used in some form and OpenAI clearly denies its involvement then the scandal won’t count. Otherwise it counts.
Does this make sense to you?
@Soli Seems reasonable.
This is US politics, where the truth doesn't matter and clicks are everything...
Given that Russia Russia Russia™ and rigged voting machine have been done before I could definitely see 'racist AI bots are the reason Trump won' or 'Ukraine backed AI rigged the election ' becoming the narrative for the month.
@PaulBenjaminPhotographer Following on this, if activists for any party are found to have clearly used GPT to depict fake human support or do hyper-specific messaging, but OpenAI clearly didn't know about it and shut it down immediately when they found out, would that count?
