My profile:

  • SAT 1550.

  • Predicted IB score 42.

  • IELTS 8.5/9

  • Vietnamese, moved to a Nordic country for high school by myself.

  • Low income family (in US standards), will require financial aid. Family contribution maximum 40k USD per year.

  • Interested in psychology and the humanities.

  • Extra-curriculars are interesting but not super high-impact.

    • Founded an organization that helps Vietnamese people move to the Nordics to study in HS and higher education.

    • Work experience with the elderly, child-care, and education counseling. Had an internship for a Vietnamese mental health start-up.

    • Published a literature review on love and culture.

    • Top 5% in the Pivotal essay contest, invited to Pivotal circle.

    • John Locke essay competition commendation.

I'm heavily prioritizing US-based institutions. The current plan is to apply Early Decision for Brown or Princeton. The rest of the options are some other colleges and universities I've considered applying for during the Regular Decision. If you think I should consider some place that isn't on the list that would fit my profile, please add it as an option (and please add a comment on why I should consider it!).
