Isn't the many-worlds interpretation and the idea that quantum computers work in parallel universes simply a nicer explanation of quantum mechanics? It's not really a separate theory, and the Google chip is not really evidence for anything new.

The "case against" article points out that nearly all cosmologists believe a spatially infinite multiverse, with causally-separated hubble volumes, does exist--and this carries nearly all the same implications for you personally as the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics (although Tegmark's Level IV multiverse is bigger and stranger).
