"The Winds of Winter" is the long awaited sixth novel in the fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin. Every book so far has had a prologue with a new POV (point of view) character, who dies at the end of the prologue or soon after. Martin has said that Jeyne Westerling will appear in the prologue, though she will not necessarily be the viewpoint character; fans have therefore speculated about who the POV character could be.
I've tried to include every character I could find a theory about online, but anyone can add other options. Each option must be the name of a single character (not something like "one of the Westerlings").
Here are a couple of Reddit posts arguing for certain characters:
Ser Ilyn Payne (by /u/feldman): https://old.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/6a10i3/spoilers_extended_twow_prologue_theory_the_silent/
Whitesmile Wat (by /u/LChris24): https://old.reddit.com/r/asoiaf/comments/jfz2mw/whitesmile_wat_twow_prologue_spoilers_extended/
I will resolve this market if:
The book is released (including posthumously)
The prologue chapter is released as a sample chapter (though this is unlikely)
There is an official announcement as to who the prologue POV chapter will be
I will not resolve the market on the basis of rumours, leaks, or ambiguous comments by Martin. If it seems likely that the book will never come out (even posthumously), then an announcement as to who the prologue POV would have been (e.g. based on Martin's notes) is sufficient to resolve this. If even that does not happen, this market will resolve N/A.
