Background
Tesla unveiled plans for the Cybercab, a futuristic robotaxi, with Elon Musk indicating mass production could begin by 2026 or 2027. The company has projected a price point under $30,000, positioning it as an affordable autonomous vehicle option.
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve YES if both of the following conditions are met:
Tesla officially releases (meaning makes availible for order or pre-order to the general public) the Cybercab for sale to the public before January 1, 2030
Any model's cash price on the Tesla website is $30,000 or less at launch
The market will resolve NO if:
The Cybercab is not released by December 31, 2029
The Cybercab is released but the cash price is listed as more than $30,000
Tesla clearly states that they are canceling the preduction of the Cybercab
Note: The price used will be the price that does not include estimated tax credits, gas savings, or estimated taxes and fees, as all of those things are subject to change. Any fees that are not absolutely necessary or that shift with location will also not be included (i.e. shipping fees, chargers)
Should there be a dispute, the rules provided will control over the answer to the question itself. While, the question is intended to provide an easy way for people to bet on their beliefs, it is not the end all be all, and all traders should look at the rules. I reserve the right to resolve a question to a percentage that I deem fair. I will give notice before I do this.
