VIPER (Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover) is a NASA mission that is being delivered to the Moon as part of the commerical CLPS program. It is currently slated to be launched on a Falcon Heavy and be delivered to the lunar surface by Atrobotic's Griffin lander, in November 2024.
To resolve YES, the rover must be delivered to the Moon and travel 30 meters. The motivation for the travel requirement is to show that the rover was delivered unharmed and to a traversable location. However, the 30 meter criteria will be strict; if the rover is not able to travel 30 meters, even for reasons unrelated to the landing, then it will resolve NO.
If multiple copies of the VIPER rover are built, only the first copy to be launched will count.
