This question is messy and underspecified. After discussion with the mod team, we believe that:

• There is an implied "before the 2024-2025 season" in the question. "Will Belichick ever retire" is a slightly silly question, and we see nothing to support that interpretation.

• In general, it is possible to be not retired, looking for a job, and unable to find one.

• We think "retired from coaching" is the most sensible interpretation; we realize that "retired overall and not working at any job or consulting in any way" is a possible interpretation, but we don't think it's the most normal one in context.

• It appears that Belichick is still looking for a coaching job.

So, we've decided to reopen it until September 5th, the start of the next season. If there are no further developments (such as a coaching job or a retirement announcement), this will resolve No at that time.

I think retirement has to be intentional, not just failing to get a job.

@traders I'm not exactly sure what counts as "after the 2023-2024 season". Presumably this means before the 2024-2025 season starts. What's the best date for that?

@EvanDaniel If he doesn't have a job but hasn't officially retired how is this resolved? The creator hasn't been active for 3months+. In these situations it seems silly to wait for an inactive creator to give an answer on how to handle ambiguous/edge cases when it's clear they'll have to make a somewhat arbitrary decision. IMO, Mods should step in and make a decision or NA the question.
