The field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine has made significant advancements, but the widespread availability of replacement organs made from one's own tissue, also known as lab-grown or bioengineered organs, is still in the early stages of development. When will we be having the first examples? When might the start becoming common practice?

I think in 30 years time, they'll be able to do much better than just replacing with baseline human tissue. Like they will probably be able to perform modifications at both the cellular level (e.g. genetic code) and the organ level (e.g. synthetic filters in kidneys).
