@MarkHamill do options like this resolve based on any of the graduation ceremonies for the individual columbia schools/departments? or was this intended to just refer to the actual university commencement ceremony (which was not held)

@Ziddletwix The lack of clarifications following the cancellation of the main commencement has turned this market into a mess.

Someone hospitalized as a result of the protest

This was posted by protesters and externally corroborated by NYPD in USA Today.

"Police said a driver hit a 55-year-old woman with his car on New York City’s Upper East Side Tuesday morning during a pro-Palestinian demonstration outside the home of a university trustee.

The New York City Police Department told USA TODAY an argument broke out between protesters and a driver around 9 a.m. Tuesday. As the group of roughly 25 demonstrators walked away, a driver hit a 55-year-old woman with his Volvo, the NYPD said. The driver and two demonstrators have been taken into custody, including the woman who was treated at the hospital for minor injuries." https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/05/07/college-campus-protests-israel-gaza-live-updates/73597831007/

@MarkHamill Wait this doesn’t have anything to do with commencement.

@NicoDelon It also happened off campus, at a separate protest (not ‘the protest’), and it’s not clear if she was admitted to the ER or as inpatient (hospitalized).

@NicoDelon yeah i thought this meant someone getting injured during a protest at commencement

IMHO 3% is too low for someone getting shot and killed in the next couple weeks.

@TimothyBandors It’s cheap, buy!

Over 100 graduating students prevented from attending

Hmm, I guess this also resolves yes. Originally I had meant this to cover expelled or suspended seniors, but as written canceling the whole thing applies

soldṀ32No in-person commenc... YES

@Marnix why’d you sell? This just got canceled

bought Ṁ250 No in-person commenc... YES

@MarkHamill i saw it plunge immediately after I bought and assumed I had misinterpreted 😛

No in-person commencement

@MarkHamill To be perfectly clear, Class Day (which is still happening, and is done at the school level) is not the same thing as University Commencement

No in-person commencement
Someone hospitalized as a result of the protest

The protesters claim someone was hospitalized. Resolution is pending an independent 3rd party source https://www.instagram.com/p/C6cMXYXOPuS/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Over 25 students expelled

119 were arrested

Someone hospitalized as a result of the protest

No injuries reported

Keeping my eye on this one!

Agreement reached with students that results in removal of all protesters from lawns

Based on the negotiations ceasing, this will resolve no if students are forced off the lawns without an agreement.

More students arrested before Commencement

Almost certain to happen tonight!

@MarkHamill Not that anyone won money here but this is for Barnard College, not Columbia.

@Balasar Barnard is a school within Columbia. If it had been “faculty no confidence letter in Shafik” it would still be open, but I wrote it too broadly, so this applies.
