The next federal elections in Germany will presumably occur in the fall of 2025. Which party will receive the most seats, according to the final official results posted by the Federal Returning Officer (Bundeswahlleiter)?

UPD: Note that I will treat CDU and CSU as one party for the resolution of this question.

AfD has a big chance here. It might go just like in Austria with the FPÖ

@VictorBialek Seems absurd to me

@ThomasTwenhoven more migrant violence against german citizens, even children just recently, is happening. The whole Internet (X) and now Elon Musk are supporting them. The economy is in shambles and will continue being so, if no sensible energy policy/tax cuts are enacted.

Furthermore, the german public is at it's most fed up, than it ever has been. The "state" media is losing it's face/showing it's true colors as of late.

The chances are definitely not 0 or close to it.

@VictorBialek As a german, I feel that you greatly overestimate these factors. The probability is obviously not zero, but it should be fairly close to 0.

Musk has burned a lot of his remaining goodwill in Germany with his recent Nazi salute, and the idea of voting in a swiss lesbian (Alice Weidel) is not exactly a rallying cry for conservatives either.

The most recent thing I heard about AfD and energy is the comment about shutting down "windmills of shame", which would worsen short-term energy issues. Again, its not exactly an advertisement for the AfD.

@ThomasTwenhoven Well, the energy issue would be "solved" through firing up nuclear again.

But I guess you might have a point there. Elon Musk's "I give my heart to you" is being strongly misconstrued by the established media as a "nazi salute" and people, who don't do research or are easily swayed, are very likely to see that as an issue and back away from the AfD.

It's quite the battle out there for you guys. This election, isn't it? The greens are desperate, the FDP is losing more and more support. The Wagenknecht Alliance has lost and also is winning again.

The CDU/CSU is kind of in "emergency measures" mode . Your government flip flops in their actions and words. Trumps inauguration is polarizing your election even further.

One thing is for sure. I'm not bored, keeping up with your situation, at all! ^^
