IMHO there's good value here. One serious injury and it's all over and it's easy to get injured at his age

I would venture to guess he’s been working extra hard this year and wanted to win the Saudi League, then have a record breaking EURO hitting 900 goals or winning and then retire or at least take it easy with his regimen in the next years to finish up his contract. The way he was crying at that final match there was a lot more to it than just losing that game/season. He’s definitely hungry for the 900 and will get it now no matter what.

he will but long term trades kinda suck

Cristiano Ronaldo boasts an impressive career record of 859 goals, with just 41 goals needed to reach the 900-goal milestone. In the 2023 season, while playing for Al Nassr, he has already netted 31 goals in just 36 games, indicating a strong likelihood of closing that gap in the upcoming 2024 season. Multiple sources have suggested that Ronaldo intends to retire after the 2026 season, granting him ample time to achieve this milestone. The quest for the remaining 41 goals adds an intriguing narrative to his legendary career, as fans eagerly await his performances in the seasons to come.

Cristiano Ronaldo has played in 1,192 games and scored 864 goals, to date. So, he has to score 36 more goals before he retires. The probability of him scoring a goal in a game is 3/4 according to this source. Then, he has to play 48 more games in order to achieve 900 goals before he retires. He has to play only for one more year, since the average of games he has playes is 51, according to this other source. So, deffinitely, if he retires its going to be in one more year.

As of October 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 876 goals in his professional career, including club and international matches. In the 2022-2023 season, he scored 31 goals in 45 appearances for Manchester United and Al-Nassr. For the recent UEFA EURO Qualifiers, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 9 goals in 7 matches so far, proving that, despite his age, he is still a world class striker.
He has also surpassed the 100 goals in the 2020 decade, only 3 years in.

Assuming he is gonna be able to keep playing at least until 40 years old, as he said in an interview, even with a decrease in his performance over time it is safe to assume he will score at least 25 goals per season for the next 3 seasons. This would bring his total to 951 goals, surpassing the 900-goal mark.

At this point the real question would be whether he is capable of scoring 1000 goals before retiring, which is also plausible.

In 2002, Cristiano Ronaldo made his debut as a football player and has become one of the most important players of the modern era. He is one of the few players in history to have over 1000 appearances in his career and has won more than 34 trophies so far.

He stated in an ESPN interview that he is nearing the end of his career. He plans to retire in two or three years at most. So, will he surpass the 900 goals?

Based on his 1,192 appearances and 864 goals, the probability of him scoring a goal in a game is 0.72. Therefore, he would have to play 50 more games to reach 900 goals (Table 1).

So far he has played an average of 54 games per year, meaning he will surpass 900 goals before his retirement.
