Start date: Feb 7, end date: Rafa retires.
Will he win a GS again?
I hope he does. Will update the close date if required.
If Rafa retires and comes out of retirement to win a GS, that doesnt count.
Nadal announces retirement after Davis Cup (so, no Grand Slam until then). https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/articles/ckgv9n5jj8jo
@10thOfficial He announced his intent to retire but hasn't retired yet. I'd wait until he really goes through with it in November, otherwise he could still change his mind (even though that chance is relatively slim)
@NGK sure. Just ping the mods again when there is enough proof for a resolution and we will resolve it.
@NicoDelon I have the same question. Criteria say:
Start date: Feb 7, end date: Rafa announces retirement.
But the title just says retirement.
How would this resolve if he announces retirement this year, and wins 2024 Roland Garros?
@d Thanks for the ping, didn't even get the notif before, I think.
I wanted to see if Rafa wins another GS before retiring, and didnt take into account the gap b/w announcing retirement and actually retiring. Afair, Federer had a pretty large gap b/w the two. So, I will modify the description now to clarify that I mean not the announcement but actually retiring.
If he retires and comes out of retirement to win a GS title, then that doesnt count.
