Criteria should be pretty self-explanatory. I would say, he doesn't need to be physically in the stands watching a particular sporting event. If he is in Paris during the Olympic Games (for instance, meeting with Macron) that would be sufficient to resolve this YES. Watching the games on TV from the US would not be sufficient. Sending the first lady or VP would also not be sufficient.

1.00Claude correctly identified that Bush is the only president who has traveled abroad to attend the Olympics. This surprises me, but makes this look way more unlikely. Practical that the summer olympics are always in election years, so no need to take that into further account.
@HenriThunberg Yep, I think thatโs a good observation. I do think France is a closer ally (esp right now) than typical hosts, and Biden may be able to use Olympics attendance as a PR boost?

@benshindel Hmm also he has done ZERO foreign trips so far in 2024, compared to 5 countries in 3 trips last year. He wouldn't be getting old, would he?
Though, I do also see the case that he would be "due" for more trips because of this, rather than taking it as an indication that he would do extremely low amounts of foreign visits in 2024.
