My PB is 53:57, set in May 2024. Before that it was 56:24 set in Mar 2024 and 57:00 set in August 2023. I dropped off at the second half of the year last year but did ~560km overall last year. This year i plan to be a lot more consistent, and structured, with a goal of a sub-45 10k. Will I manage?
I'll provide regular updates as the year goes along and answer any trader questions. I'll only trade YES in this market.
@Tarl haven't been too consistent because of some travel but I'm just beginning to pick up some steam. My initial goal is to establish good consistency and to try and grind Zone 2s and see what comes of it. Then I'll maybe start incorporating some speedwork in March. I'm also currently losing ~0.5kg/week so far so things are not too shabby
@Tarl please do! a head to head competition would definitely spice things up myself. you're right that going from 50 to 45 is a huge slog but i think i have some huge potential upside - I'm ~90kg now so if I lose ~5-10kg during the year that will make a huge difference. My current PB is also entirely from sporadic, inconsistent activity so I want to think some consistency will lead to easy gains
@Tarl nice. you're probably a slight favorite but only just. i haven't run a 10k in ~2 months but pretty sure if I did now I would be at around ~53 mins. we'll see
