bought Ṁ40 Orange NO

@deepfates 2024 is Peach Fuzz, closest to orange

bought Ṁ1,000 Orange YES

@Lily okay i bet they do it again

@deepfates bold! just like the color orange

impressive field this year. they've never really trotted out a strong orange, but they did a weaksauce coral a couple years back and this year's peach is probably too close to go back-to-back. a couple purples in recent years, but it seems to be a perennial favorite, and I like a lavender's chances if the committee is willing to branch out into repeat pastels — historically unprecedented, but not unthinkable. if that's on the table, then seafoam fits the bill too.

we seem due for a brown, maybe copper or umber, but why have they never run one before? might be a tough marketing play: can't pitch it as soothing like a gray but can't really fill that vibrancy niche either. personally, a cool-toned olive variant makes me weak, but might be another decade before the public is ready for that.

@Lily i havent voted yet but i honestly think we could see a zoomery yellow

@sympatheticopp

a buttercup could bridge the bright-calm divide nicely

has anyone run statistical analysis on past colors of the year there's gotta be a better than random way to guess

i just picked green bc i like green and it hasn't been a COTY since 2017

This is conditional on there being only one color of the year. Sometimes they do a couple

bought Ṁ10 Gray YES

@CGd3da what happens with this market if they do choose a couple of colours?
