I've thought of myself as autistic for a long time but never pursued a formal diagnosis. I anticipate making contact with a doctor capable of making such a diagnosis in the relatively near future, so I don't think the end date of the market should be particularly relevant to traders.
Some evidence in favor:
good at math, bad at people
intense sensitivity to certain stimuli: I won't eat any salad dressings. Being near music amplifiers makes me feel like I'm dying; I unironically describe someone carrying a boombox on public transit as attacking me with a sonic weapon
I got a hand-me-down iPod when I was 7 and listened to the song "Eleanor Rigby" thousands of times before putting another song on
When I do consume music (not that much), I tend to do it in a similar way as above; I will listen to a song hundreds or thousands of times in the background without any other songs in between
I read One Hundred Years of Solitude something like 6-10 times in high school
To occupy myself on long car rides as a kid, I would find the prime factorization of the license plate numbers on passing cars (I'm not a mental calculator or anything, this would take me a while)
a coworker at a SWE job once brought up my habit of wearing gym shorts to work (they're comfy). Several years later it occurred to me that he was probably trying to tell me to stop wearing gym shorts to work
Tendency to infodump, though when I was roughly high-school aged I realized I should pay attention to whether my counterparty was actually interested in what I was saying, so I'm better about this now
Some evidence against:
I don't have to cut tags off shirts, as a counter to the salad dressing / loud music thing
no stimming behavior, as far as I can tell
I really like hugs
I asked my mom recently if she ever worried her sons were autistic and she seemed surprised by the question
I'm generally willing to answer further questions in the comments, though I reserve the right not to answer questions that are too personal.
