Reportedly, the OpenAI board is in negotiations with Sam Altman for him to return as OpenAI CEO and for most of them to resign, but the have condition. I will try to resolve to all concessions they got. If this doesn't happen or we have no idea by the end of the year, all answers resolve N/A.

@1941159478 I think this can resolve now. I don't believe the new board is especially safety-conscious, and afaik Ilya still does exactly what he did before, which includes being head of superalignment.
@Shump Hmmm, I just reopened the market for the time being. I still feel like the public doesn’t have anywhere to close to the whole story. The New York Times for example reported:
Mr. Summers, from his Boston-area home, spoke with Mr. D’Angelo, Mr. Altman, Mr. Nadella and others. Each probed him for his views on A.I. and management, while he asked about OpenAI’s tumult. He said he wanted to be sure that he could play the role of a broker.
It seems totally possible to me that the old board asked prospective new members about their views on safety and were able to get members who they viewed as sufficiently risk-conscious.
