Background Info:

AI-generated actors, also known as virtual actors or digital humans, are computer-generated characters that can simulate realistic human performances. They are created using advanced computer graphics, machine learning algorithms, and motion capture technology. These virtual actors have been used in movies, video games, and advertising campaigns, offering new possibilities for storytelling and visual effects.

Major film awards include the Academy Awards (Oscars), Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA Awards, and Cannes Film Festival awards, among others. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in the film industry, including acting, directing, writing, and technical accomplishments. Winning a major film award is considered a significant milestone for any film, actor, or filmmaker.

Resolution Criteria:

For this question to resolve as "Yes," a movie featuring an AI-generated actor (defined as a character created using artificial intelligence and computer graphics, without direct human performance) must win a major film award in one of the following categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, or Best Supporting Actress. The award must be from one of the recognized major film award organizations (Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA Awards, or Cannes Film Festival awards) by the end of 2024.

If no movie featuring an AI-generated actor wins a major film award in the specified categories by the end of 2024, the question will resolve as "No."

Voting yes on the assumption that extras count. Populating crowds with AI generated models seems to be something that will be happening this year as there are a number of movies that will or have incorporated this.

Does the animation need to be AI generated ?

@Butanium Yes. The core animation should be AI generated. If there is some touching up by VFX artists, then it would still count. we can think of that like makeup.
