which taxes Manifold users think are most effective for a government to implement

What is the exact phrasing you will use in the poll? Because asking people what's "most effective" is quite different from asking people what they support.

@josh i don't know the exact wording yet but something like which taxes do you support and think are effective / positive for a government to implement

@strutheo Please do consider posting an exact wording before these markets close. I think it would have a significant impact on the poll results. Manifolders are pretty good at distinguishing personal like/dislike from efficacy.

@josh how would you phrase it?

@strutheo Depends on which question you want to ask. I would write either:

> Consider (the item being polled). Are you in favor of this as one component of a government's tax policy? Please consider this in isolation as an incremental component of tax policy and vote yes/no accordingly. Don't take any other items being polled into account.

Or:

> Consider (the item being polled). Do you believe this is an effective component of a government's tax policy? Please consider efficacy only, rather than preferences. Please consider this in isolation as an incremental component of tax policy and vote yes/no accordingly. Don't take any other items being polled into account.

@josh thank you, i'd do the first option in this case, because it isnt just about sheer efficacy, but also about if they approve of the tradeoffs for that result

Child tax credit

good one ill edit this to allow tax CREDITS and other policies too

@strutheo thanks, I saw it change from "taxes & credits" to just "taxes" right after I added it and thought "ooops"
