YES

U.S. Gulf States which border the Gulf of Mexico include Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi (aka “Land Mass between Louisiana and Alabama”), Alabama, and Florida.

Resolves YES for a Category 3 or higher tropical cyclone forming in the Atlantic Ocean making reported landfall on any of the states listed above between the dates of June 1, 2024, and November 30, 2024.

Subtropical activity: any storm system that forms and attains major hurricane strength before hurricane season officially begins must make landfall in one of the Gulf States after June 1 in order to resolve YES. Subtropical systems that form after November 30 and meet the intensity criteria will not be accepted.

@LBeesley Resolves YES for Helene making landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm. If you’re in the path of this storm, please stay safe. And get off manifold and find shelter if you haven’t already.

Tracking Tropical Depression Four. No current projections of strengthening past tropical storm on the Saffir Simpson Scale, but I’ve lived long enough around the Gulf of Mexico to know the warm water creates a chasm of uncertainty with tropical cyclones that enter therein.
